Face-to-face training is again not possible, but we did manage to squeeze in a couple of activities earlier in the Autumn:
Congratulations to four of our cadets who completed the Bronze level of the National Navigation Award Scheme a few weekends ago. This covers essential map-reading skills, and was completed locally to Wymondham. All of the cadets did very well, even when faced with some tricky navigation decisions.
Furthermore, the four have since undertaken their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition. They, along with cadets from 864 (Watton) Sqn, planned and completed a two-day self-sufficient walking expedition, again in Norfolk. Normally, this would have included overnight camping, but DofE have allowed a concession for this due to the current public health restrictions. Many thanks to the Wing DofE Officer and the other staff involved for arranging the expedition opportunity. The cadets are now looking to finish off the remaining sections to complete their Bronze DofE Award.
